Baharat Beef Kebab

Tender beef kebabs paired with fresh flatbread, parsley, hummus, and a hint of chilli sauce – this dish is packed with bold flavours. The beef is marinated with lemon juice, garlic, and Baharat seasoning, giving it a deep, aromatic taste. Perfect for grilling, barbecuing, or cooking in a griddle pan, these kebabs are deliciously smoky and juicy. Serve them with a sprinkling of parsley, a drizzle of garlic mayo, and a squeeze of lemon to elevate every bite.

  • 200g topside beef, cut into large chunks
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Baharat seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Flatbread (for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Hummus (for spreading)
  • Chilli sauce (for drizzling)
  • Garlic mayo (for drizzling)
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Green chillies (optional, for serving)

Directions

  1. In a bowl, coat the beef chunks with lemon juice, garlic, salt, and Baharat seasoning. Cover and leave to marinate in the fridge for 2 to 24 hours.
  2. Once marinated, skewer the beef and cook directly over a hot surface. Use a barbecue, griddle pan, or grill, cooking for 3-4 minutes per side. Brush with a little oil and turn every 2 minutes until the beef is cooked to your preference.
  3. Set the beef aside to rest for a few minutes.
  4. To serve, spread hummus over flatbread, top with the cooked beef, chopped parsley, coriander, chilli sauce, garlic mayo, and a squeeze of lemon. Sprinkle extra Baharat seasoning over the top.
  5. Serve with vinegary, spicy green chillies for an added kick.
