Succulent slow roasted pork layered with savoury ham, tangy pickles, and melty Swiss cheese, all nestled in a crispy toasted ciabatta roll. This classic Cuban sandwich delivers a perfect balance of flavours and textures, making it an irresistible choice for lunch or a hearty dinner.

  • 400g Angus and Oink Cuban slow roasted pork shoulder (from 1kg joint) (shredded)
  • 4 Ciabatta rolls or loaf
  • 50g yellow mustard
  • 4 tbsp Angus & Oink Cuban Seasoning
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 8 slices dill pickles
  • 400g sliced ham

Directions

  1. Rub Pork shoulder all over with Angus and Oink Cuban Seasoning, roast covered, with a splash of water in the oven tray at 140C for 3 hrs or until falling apart. Rest for 30 mins, then shred the joint, incorporating any resting juices from the pan.
  2. Split and toast the rolls or loaf under a hot grill.
  3. Spread mustard on the bottom of the bread, layer pickles, shredded roast pork, sliced ham and top with cheese.
  4. Flash under the grill again until golden and the cheese has melted.
