Easy Shrimp Stir Fry with Teriyaki Seasoning
An authentic teriyaki flavour from Japan brimming with ginger, soy, umami and chilli. Serve up with rice, noodles add veg... the world is yours to taste!
- 1Kg of shelled and tailed shrimp
- 3 Tbsp Teriyaki Seasoning
- 3 Tbsp Runny Honey
- 50 ml Light Soy Sauce
- Toasted Sesame Seeds
- Bunch of fresh Chives
- C1 x red and one green chilli
- 1 inch Ginger root, finely grated
- 2 garlic cloves, finely grated
- 2 Tbsp Sesame oil
We often keep a bag of frozen shrimp / king prawns in the freezer as back up!
Defrost the shrimp, drain and pat dry with kitchen paper.
In a bowl, mix the Teriyaki seasoning with the runny honey and soy sauce to form a saucy glaze for the shrimp.
Heat a wok or non-stick frying pan over medium high heat, add the sesame oil with the garlic and ginger and stir fry until the garlic is golden brown.
Add the shrimp into the mix and cook through, add the Teriyaki sauce mixture from your bowl and reduce the heat to low. Mix the shrimp with the sauce and ginger/garlic.
You could add a load of different veggies so we'll leave that to your imagination. We just like to serve this with steamed rice and chilli oil for simple sups.
Garnish the dish with toasted sesame seeds, chilli slices and chopped chives.
