Fish Burger with El Jefe Tartare Sauce

Crispy beer-battered fish, seasoned with our El Jefe blend and fried ‘til golden perfection. Stacked high with pickles, red onions, lettuce, and a tartare sauce so loaded it might need its own warning label.

Directions

  1. Pat dry deboned and skinned fillet of fish and coat with El Jefe seasoning.
  2. Mix flour with beer to form batter, preheat oil to 175°C, gently add fish to deep fry for 6 – 8 minutes until internal temperature is about 63°C.
  3. While fish is frying, add mayonnaise to bowl, add chopped capers, chopped pickle, splash
of pickle juice and El Jefe seasoning.
  4. Once fish is cooked, remove and place on kitchen towel to drain and rest for 3 – 5 minutes.
  5. Build your burger however you want – we like to add pickled red onions, lettuce, some extra pickle plus lashings of that badass tartare sauce.
