Harissa Pickles

Red onion Harissa PicklesLiterally translated as head of the Shop. Ras el hanout is a north African spice blend that show cases all the top shelf flavours.

Here we have made our super quick Harissa Red Onions.

These keep well in the fridge for a while and are the perfect accompaniment to many a meat or cheese dish!

ingredients

  • 30g Harissa Seasoning
  • 2 Red Onions Chopped or Sliced
  • 200ml Red Wine Vinegar
  • 200ml Water
  • Urfa Chillies
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Mix 2 tbs Harissa Seasoning with 1 tsp salt, 200ml red wine vinegar and 200ml water, add some Urfa chili if you're feeling spicy.
  2. Chop 2 red onions in your preferred fashion and squash into a jar with the pickling fluid from step 1 leaving as little air space as possible. Store in the fridge, enjoy in sandwiches, on humus, with roast veggies or even alone in the dark.
