Jamaican Beef Patties

Jamaican Beef Patties

Flaky crust, fiery filling, and that deep island flavour.
Stuffed with Exodust heat, and best served with a glass of our Skulduggery Rum on the side.


ingredients

  • 400g beef mince 
  • 1-2 Tbsp EXODUST 
  • 1 onion diced.  
  • 1-2 scotch bonnets (diced and deseeded) 
  • 1 tsp Browning or soy sauce 
  • 250ml beef stock 
  • 1 Tbsp flour 
  • RAMPANT ANGUS KETCHUP (optional) 

Directions

  1. Before you start making your filling find a patty dough recipe online and make this first. 
  2. For the filling put the onions and scotch bonnet in a pan with a drop of oil and cook until soft. 
  3. Once soft add in your beef mince or preferred filling and cook until browned. 
  4. When browned add in the exodus and browning and mix thoroughly. For an extra kick add some rampant angus. 
  5. Add in the beef stock and flour mix well again taste test and let simmer for 10-15 mins until it has thickened.  
  6. When thickened up take off the heat to cool completely  
  7. Pre heat an oven to 160c (fan)  
  8. Roll out your dough to around 3mm thick and using a suitable bowl cut out 15cm circles.  
  9. Fill your cut outs with the filling and fold over using water to stick together crimping down with a fork and don’t forget to add vent holes on the top. 
  10. Place on greaseproof paper on a baking sheet and cook for 25 mins before placing onto a cooling rack. 
  11. Then sit back with a glass of skulduggery tucking into a patty wishing you were on a beach on the island.
