Bring the takeaway vibes home with this addictive spice bag recipe, a proper crowd-pleaser that’s fast, fiery, and full of flavour. A&O Chinese Takeaway does the heavy lifting here, packing every bite with that sweet, salty, spicy umami punch you crave from your favourite late-night order. Tossed with crispy chicken, golden chips, spiced peppers and onion, it’s the kind of fakeaway that’ll have everyone diving in for seconds.

ingredients

  • 16 chicken wings
  • 3 tbsp A&O Chinese Takeaway seasoning
  • 2 tbsp vegetable or rapeseed oil
  • 3 medium potatoes, cut into wedges (or frozen wedges)
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, finely sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 195°C.
  2. Place chicken wings in a bowl with 1 tbsp oil and 2 tbsp Chinese Takeaway seasoning. Mix well, spread on a baking tray and roast for 35–40 minutes, turning halfway.
  3. Place potato wedges on a separate baking tray, season with the remaining 1 tbsp Chinese Takeaway, and roast until golden and crispy.
  4. Heat the remaining 1 tbsp oil in a pan and stir-fry the peppers and onion until softened.
  5. Serve the chicken, wedges and veggies together (shake up in a bag with a little extra seasoning if you like) and add your favourite dipping sauce on the side.
