Montreal Burger

Smashed beef patties hit with Montreal Steak & Burger seasoning, stacked high with melted cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion and a punchy Mac Daddy burger sauce. Big burger flavour, proper crust and enough sauce to make it messy in all the right ways.

ingredients

For the Burgers:

  • 4 x 90g beef mince balls
  • 2 burger buns, plus 2 extra middle bun slices
  • 2 cheese slices
  • ¼ lettuce, shredded
  • ½ onion, finely diced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Angus & Oink Montreal Steak & Burger Seasoning

For the Mac Daddy Burger Sauce:

  • 200ml mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Angus & Oink Mac Daddy Burger Seasoning

Directions

  1. Start by making the burger sauce. Mix the mayonnaise with the Mac Daddy Burger Seasoning, then set aside while you cook the patties.
  2. Heat a plancha, flat top or heavy frying pan until very hot.
  3. Place the beef mince balls onto the hot surface. Using a burger press or heavy spatula, smash each ball down firmly into a thin patty.
  4. Season the patties with half of the Montreal Steak & Burger Seasoning, then cook for 2–3 minutes until a deep crust has formed.
  5. Flip the patties, season again with the remaining Montreal Steak & Burger Seasoning, then add cheese slices to 2 of the patties. Cook for a further 2–3 minutes, until cooked through and the cheese has melted.
  6. Lightly toast the burger buns and middle bun slices.
  7. Build each burger with plenty of Mac Daddy burger sauce, shredded lettuce, diced onion, tomato, the smashed patties and the extra middle bun layer.
  8. Serve straight away with extra sauce on the side if you’re not afraid of a bit of mess.
