Doing Things Properly

At Angus & Oink, we've always believed good BBQ starts with great ingredients, passionate people and a bit of respect for where things come from. We're an independent Scottish business, and we want to grow in a way we can be proud of.

Made in Aberdeenshire

We blend every pot of rub in our own facility in Aberdeenshire. That means we know exactly what goes into our products and who makes them, and it means we're creating jobs right here in the Northeast of Scotland.

Our facility is part of a working farm where Aberdeen Angus cattle graze. The site uses biomass heating and solar energy to offset the electricity usage. We offer electric car charging for our staff and guests as well as running two electric vehicles as part of our fleet.

Our Ingredients

We source our ingredients from UK suppliers wherever possible, supporting British producers and keeping our supply chain close to home. Where something simply isn't grown or produced here, like many of the spices at the heart of a good rub, we work with trusted suppliers who meet the same standards we hold ourselves to.

We're also SALSA certified (Safe and Local Supplier Approval), an independent food safety standard for UK food producers. It means our facility, processes and traceability are regularly audited, so you can be confident in what goes into every pot.

Our Packaging

Our pots are made from 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. That's plastic that has already been used, recycled and given a second life, which means less new plastic being produced for every pot we fill.

When you've used the last of the rub, the pot doesn't have to be the end of the road. Give it a good wash and it makes a handy pen pot, a mini flower pot, or storage for all the odds and ends that never have a home. And when you're done with it, it's fully recyclable in your normal household collection.

Behind the scenes, we reuse our waste cardboard as many times as we can. Once a box has reached the end of its life, we shred it and use it as filler to protect your orders in transit, so nothing goes to waste. Our cardboard is made from FSC certified suppliers and 89% of the raw materials are recycled paper.

Backing Independent Butchers

Through our partnership with Dalziel, our products are in independent butchers across the UK. We're proud to support the local high street and the craft butchers who keep quality meat and good advice at the heart of their communities.

In Our Community

We're a North East business, and we want to give back to the place that's backed us from the start.

Supporting local kids. Over the last few years, we've donated hundreds of pounds' worth of toys and gifts to Cash for Kids in the North East of Scotland, helping make Christmas a little brighter for local children and families who need it most.

Access to counselling. We've donated to JAS Counselling, a children's counselling service that banks on donations to fund sessions for children whose families can't afford to pay. Every child who needs support should be able to get it, regardless of their circumstances.

Fighting food poverty. We've made large food donations to Somebody Cares food bank, supporting their work providing food and essentials to people across the North East.

Backing local sport. Throughout 2026 and 2027, we're proud to sponsor the Grampian Flyers, a grassroots basketball club giving young people in the area the chance to play, and Grampian Ignite, a national pathway team developing some of Scotland's most promising players. From first dribbles to national competition, we're behind them all the way.

Closer to home. And for our immediate community, we'll keep supporting the people and groups around us wherever we can, so they can carry on doing the great things they're already doing.

What's Next

We don't claim to have everything figured out, but we're committed to getting better. We'll always look for ways to reduce our impact on the world around us, and we'll keep seeking out suppliers and partners who share our ethos. As we make progress, we'll update this page so you can see what we've been up to.
