There are times when you make a decision that leads to something wonderful. The decision to buy a Kadai Firepit last year, lead me down a path I never knew existed. After a few “standard” cooks, I went on the hunt to expand my horizons. This hunt lead to a website that had these things called “Rubs” .... and some of them had humorous names and I thought “These are my kind of people”, so my first order with Angus & Oink was placed and from that moment on .... I was hooked.
Very shortly, a ProQ Frontier Smoker was added to the roster and I tackled my first Brisket and another order was placed. This order had “The General” in it and it has became one of my firm favourites ... especially on a nice Jacobs Ladder. “Togorashi” is my ‘go to’ for Spatchcock Chicken and “Gaucho” turns a nice Steak into a Spectacular Steak. From their range of sauces I would have to say that Red House is my favourite closely followed by PitBoss.
Recently I have been exploring a bit more of the “Adventurous” side of things and I am either being hailed as a genius or a madman. Who knows. In my time away from the grill I can be found playing with one of my many Guitars or attending to the needs of my Vintage 1973 VW ‘Baja’ Beetle
