Meat Skewer Ramen Noodles

Looking to turn a simple pack of instant ramen into something seriously impressive? This recipe layers smoky grilled steak skewers, juicy prawns, rich golden-yolk egg and bold seasoning to create a bowl that feels restaurant-worthy but takes just 20 minutes to make.

ingredients

  • 1 skirt steak
  • 6 prawns
  • 1 pack of instant ramen noodles
  • ¼ cup bean sprouts
  • 1 scallion
  • 1 chili pepper
  • ¼ cup Angus and Oink Chinese Takeaway Seasoning
  • ¼ cup Angus and Oink Japanese Yakitori Seasoning
  • 1 Egg
  • Nori Leaves (optional)

Directions

  1. Cut the skirt steak into even square chunks and thread them onto skewers.
  2. Season the steak skewers and the prawns generously with Angus and Oink Japanese Yakitori Seasoning, making sure they are evenly coated.
  3. Open the instant ramen pack and boil the noodles according to the packet instructions. Prepare the broth by mixing the soup powder with Angus and Oink Chinese Takeaway Seasoning for an extra depth of flavor.
  4. Boil the egg for exactly 6 minutes, then immediately transfer it to ice water to stop the cooking process and achieve a perfectly soft, golden yolk. Peel carefully once cooled.
  5. Grill the prawns over high heat for 3 minutes and the steak skewers for about 5 minutes, or until cooked to your preferred doneness.
  6. To assemble, place the cooked noodles into a bowl and pour over the hot broth. Add an extra dash of Chinese Takeaway Seasoning, then top with bean sprouts, chopped scallion, sliced chili, the halved soft-boiled egg, nori leaves (if using), and the grilled prawns. Rest the steak skewers over the top for a bold finishing touch.
  7. Pick up the noodles with the skewers, if you can, and enjoy.
