This is the ultimate warming dish of tasty goodness. Seasoned with our tasty and fragrant Sri Lankan seasoning, this is the ultimate low cost, healthy comfort supper!
Ingredients
- 100 g of red split lentils
- 400ml chicken stock

Half a tablespoon of Sri Lankan curry powder
- 25 g of raisins
- Teaspoon of ginger purée
- Tablespoon of mango chutney
- 20 g of salted butter

3 Garlic Cloves, sliced

1 Red Chilli Thinly Sliced

Half a teaspoon of Sri Lankan curry powder
- 20 ml Vegetable oil for frying

Bombay mix

Crispy Onions

Flat Bread

Chips with Salt & Vinegar

Chopped Fresh Coriander

Yoghurt sauce
For The Daal

Directions
For The Daal
Add lentils, hot chicken stock, Sri Lankan, curry powder, raisins, and ginger purée to a pan
Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, or until extremely tender to touch
Mix in a spoonful of mango chutney and salted butter, set aside
For The Tarka
In a small frying pan, heat up your oil till it’s about 180° C
Add your sliced garlic cloves, thinly sliced chilli, Sri Lankan seasoning
Fry until garlic is golden brown
Pour the tarka over the daal.
Garnish with Bombay mix, crispy onions, chopped coriander and mint in yoghurt sauce.
Best served with flat bread and definitely well seasoned salt and vinegar chips.
